Lot 4: Artisanal Fisheries Support

The Lot is divided in two sub categories:

Lot 4-A: Strengthening Artisanal Fisheries (except for training)

Experts of this category will be assigned to provide TA for small-scale fisheries, design and supervision of infrastructure and the organisation of credit schemes when feasible and sustainable

The Expert Profiles requested are:

  • Fisheries-related institutional building experts with experience on policy, organizational and institutional issues and development-cooperation experience;
  • Fisheries scientists with knowledge of policy and applied resource management issues;
  • Fisheries development specialists with experience in artisanal fisheries and knowledge of Logical Framework methodology;
  • Development-cooperation experts with experience in extension work, co-operatives and credit lines;
  • Engineers specialized in the design and management of port landing infrastructure, water supply and sanitation and/or fish processing facilities;
  • Master fishermen and
  • Vessel managers with good knowledge of fish handing and small-scale fishing techniques or in mechanics of fishing boats, construction material and fishing equipment, refrigeration, etc. and experience in construction supervision of artisanal fisheries infrastructure and procurement of small scale equipment

Lot 4-B: Training of Artisanal Fisheries

The selected experts for this lot would be required to design suitable short-term training courses for artisanal fishers and processors. They would also be required to prepare training materials, workshops, etc.

The Expert Profiles requested are:

  • Training experts required under this lot must be qualified trainers or have training experience in HACCP, GMP, SSOP, handling and processing of fish and molluscs, seafood sanitary and quality controls and/or be responsible for or co-publisher of training manuals, videos, etc.
