SFP ACP/OCT PROGRAM

“Strengthening health conditions for Fishery Products in ACP/OCT Countries” Program is a new major five-year project approved for funding by the EDF in 2002 to strengthen the capacities of veterinary and health authorities responsible for meeting international sanitary and standards of their fisheries and aquaculture products in 60 African, Caribbean and Pacific (ACP) Countries and 8 Overseas Countries and Territories (OCT).
The principal objective is to safeguard ACP/OCT countries’ ability to maintain their earnings from international trade, in which the fisheries sector contributes positively to the balance of payments in many ACP countries. The goal is to improve the access of ACP/OCT fishery products to the world market by strengthening the capacity for sustainable expert health controls and improving production conditions in all beneficiary countries.
During the five years that this Program will last, a large number of projects are going to be proclaimed for the different ACP/OCT Countries
