Lamans in partnership with MRAG (lead partner) won the tender 2010/S 110-166084 for “provision of a study on information systems supporting fisheries controls in the European Union” launched by the Community Fisheries Control Agency (CFCA).
The Community Fisheries Control Agency (CFCA) is a European Union body established in 2005 to organise operational coordination of fisheries control and inspection activities by the Member States and to assist them to cooperate so as to comply with the rules of the Common EU Fisheries Policy in order to ensure its effective and uniform application. CFCA is based in Vigo, Spain.
In the kick off meeting that took place on September 16, 2010 was discussed the overall approach and the details of reporting and communication.
The study will be implemented through the following five modules:
I. North Sea: Belgium, Denmark, Germany and Netherlands.
II. Baltic Sea: Estonia, Finland, Latvia, Lithuania, Poland and Sweden.
III. West Atlantic: France, Ireland, Portugal and United Kingdom.
IV. West Mediterranean: Italy, Malta, Slovenia and Spain.
V. East Mediterranean: Bulgaria, Cyprus, Greece and Romania
LAMANS will undertake modules IV and V (East and West Mediterranean).
The project will have a duration of 12 months.
