Detailed description of project:

In this project the Lamans cooperates with AGRECO G.E.I.E. and ULG NORTHUMBRIAN Ltd. The overall objective of the project of which this contract is part of is “to enhance sustainable management and conservation of natural coastal and marine resources thereby contribution to poverty alleviation amongst the coastal population of South Western Indian Ocean”. Hence, it is important that these natural resources (fish and coral reefs in particular but not only) are able in the medium – term to provide the coastal populations with diversified and sustainable sources of income.

The specific objective of the Programme is to strengthen the regional capacities of local communities and public/ private bodies in order to achieve a sustainable integrated coastal zone management.

A technical team is formed by the Consultant who will support the development of a regional vision in the field of sustainable management of marine and coastal resources, promoting the regional added value when appropriate, the subsidiary between regional, national and local governance and the development and implementation of suitable regional cooperation policies and tools.
