EU Framework Contract Lot 1 ‘Rural Development”

Since October 2009 LAMANS participates in a consortium that was awarded under the Framework Contract EuropeAid/127054/C/SER/Multi - Lot 1 for the direct supply of short-term expertise in the sector ‘Rural Development” for external aid projects to the exclusive benefit of third countries receiving external aid from the European Union.

LAMANS is participating on this consortium providing its vast experience in food safety and fisheries but also to all the other sub- sectors of Rural Development.

The specific sub-sectors where we will provide expertise are as follows:

• Agricultural primary production, included horticulture
• Forestry
• Land management (land reform, land use planning and farm restructuring)
• Rural infrastructure incl. irrigation and drainage
• Equipment definition (agriculture equipment, laboratories…)
• Crop protection and disease control
• Animal production and health
• Agricultural production and marketing groups (inclusive co-operatives)
• Food safety (safe for consumption)
• Food security
• Fisheries

• The rapid recruitment and mobilisation of short-term services
• Quality inputs and quality outputs
• The flexibility to call upon experts to conduct assignments throughout the world and across the sector
